Billing & Payment
Insurance Plans
Orthopedic Specialty Clinic, Ltd. participates with most insurance plans including Medicare, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, United HealthCare, Alliance, MAMSI, Aetna and Cigna. We also participate with most workers-compensation plans. We do not participate with Medicaid or Tricare. However, with the proper referral, we are happy to treat Tricare patients.
When you make your appointment as a new patient, you will need to inform us if you need a referral. Although we will do everything we can to assist you in obtaining your referral, you are ultimately responsible for having your referral at the time of your first visit.
We will file your claim with your insurance company and unlike many practices, we do our own billing. You deal directly with our staff if you have any questions or concerns about your bill.
Payment
In order for our office to submit an insurance claim, you are required to present your insurance information and valid photo identification at the time of check-in. You are responsible for any co-payment or deductible at each visit, in accordance with your insurance policy. If you do not have insurance, payment is due in full at the time services are rendered. Please check with our office about payment plan options.
We accept cash, check, debit card, Visa and MasterCard.
Referrals
Some insurance plans require the patient to obtain a referral from their primary care provider prior to receiving services from a specialist. If your plan requires a referral authorization, services will only be provided if the referral is at our office at the time of your appointment. You will have the option to sign a waiver accepting financial responsibility for services not covered due to the lack of referral authorization. If you do not have your referral and you want to wait for the referral, we can reschedule your appointment.
