Fracture Care

Fracture Care

A fracture occurs when a bone is broken. There is no difference between a fracture and broken bone. We manage most extremity and spinal fractures. Our doctors are extensively trained to handle the most complex of cases; however, some fractures require even more specialized care.

We will refer our patients when necessary to university hospitals. Many fractures are treated appropriately without surgery, but some do require internal fixation or even joint replacement.

Water and Sports Casts

Our team can discuss with you if this is a good option for your fracture. This bracing technology allows clinicians to mold the brace directly to the patient for the best possible fit and comfort.

The casts are made of thermoformable material, which is very light-weight, and waterproof. It can be easily cleaned, and cuts down on odors/smells.

No longer will patients have to worry about getting their casts wet. If appropriate, water casts allow patients to be involved in activities and sports not possible with the standard casts.
